Pub and Kitchen team taken over North Shields’ Wooden Doll

Seaside drinkers supped, shook their hips and gazed up at stilt walkers as North Shields newest returning pub reopened its doors.

Formerly a Jennings tavern, The Wooden Doll on Hudson Street has been taken over by the team behind the town’s nearby Pub and Kitchen.

And on opening night Canny Brew joined visitors to listen to live music from Suzie and The Shakers, enjoy views of the mouth of the Tyne and drink the Cullercoats Brewery Shuggy Boat Blonde Special and Rocket Brigade IPA, and Hadrian Border Tyneside Blonde, which could be found among the pub’s six hand pumps.
