Teesside bottled beer lovers invited into the Lion’s Den
Bottled beer fans on Teesside are enticed to enter the Lion’s Den – no, not a big cat’s lair but Yarm’s first specialist beer and drinks shop.
The new store in the market town is stocking around 180 beers, 24 ciders, 70 spirits, 150 wines, 25 whiskeys and 20 liqueurs – 98% of which you’ll not find on the aisles of your local supermarket.
“We receive many recommendations which is great as we constantly change what we sell, so always having a different choice however there are a few that prove very popular and therefore always stock,” said Lion’s Den director Sam, whose shop bears the name of Cameron’s Brewery’s Hartlepool-based microbrewery offshoot.
“We are a family run independent shop who is already established within the drinks industry through our other company. Opening the shop was just the next stage and we hope we can offer some lovely gift ideas as well as everyday drinks to enjoy.”
Visiting recently Teesside beer writer Andy Mogg said he was impressed by the range on offer and the fact that if the shop don’t stock something a customer is trying to find they will do their best to source it for them.
“I picked up a variety of bottles from Partizan, Wild Beer Co, Brewfist and Berliner-Kindl. I’ve also got my eye on a couple of bottles of gin they stock,” he said.
“I had a really hard time choosing what to buy, the prices were competitive and I’ll certainly be going back.”
The shop is located in Fairfax Court on Yarm High Street and is open from 10am to 6pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
