Camerons opens Head of Steam Tynemouth as first step in expansion plans
Camerons Brewery has opened the doors on the first new Head of Steam pub since taking over the group in December last year.
Previously the Aspire, the new Head of Steam Tynemouth, underwent an extensive refit and reopened offering a diverse range of more than 200 drinks including lagers, beers, and ciders, with ales from Camerons and several local brewers joined by a wide selection of world beers.
“I am absolutely delighted with the launch,” said Joe Smith, operations and pub estates director for Camerons Brewery.
“The pub looks great and is a vast improvement both in terms of the look, quality and range of products now available.
“It is another step in our plans to develop our retail pub estate and it demonstrates our commitment to our QISS initiative (Quality, Innovation, Standards & Service) developing a new breed of sites offering our customers a complete range of great beers, great food in a great pub.
“The Aspire site shut its doors for just 11 days later so we were up against a very tight deadline in order to carry out a complete refit and get the site opened for the busy bank holiday period.
“I would like to give a personal thanks to my operations team. Special recognition goes to the team at the new Head of Steam who have worked tremendously hard over the last few weeks undergoing intense training and getting this site operational.”
The new pub will be launching its food menu this week offering, with “home-cooked” bar food including a range of burgers and hot dogs, and a selection of bar snacks and nibbles.
