Tyne Bank Brewery is hoping its Swedish sojourn could lead to a lasting trade tie up with the Scandinavian nation.

The Byker-based business sent managing director Julia Austin to Stockholm as part of a UK Trade and Industry trip.

And the firm is now hoping to mint an export contract after impressing Nordic drinkers with its American pale ale Silver Dollar.

“The people we met were lovely and I am hoping we can build budding relationships into long term partnerships,” said Julia.

“And the Trade show we visited was very impressive. The beers were all keg but as a festival is was a wonderful experience bringing wine, champagne, rum, tequila, and cognac distributors alongside beer and whisky.

“Our beers went down very well, with Silver Dollar a firm favourite for export so we will just have to wait and see.”
