Gateshead Beer Festival announces headliners as 2014 tickets go on sale

ORGANISERS have announced the musical line up for one of the North East’s biggest beer festival – despite it being more than five months away.

Tickets are already on sale for the fifth annual Gateshead Beer Festival, at Gateshead Rugby Club in Low Fell, which will take place from May 2 to 4 2014.

And top of the bill are North East acts Smoove and Turrell, Big Red and the Grinners, and Bessie and the Zinc Buckets.

“We will again have over 100 different beers from all over the country but we will also be featuring and supporting local breweries,” said organiser Andy Bourne. “We will also have over 25 different ciders, as well as a Cava bar.

“If the weather is kind to us, there is no better place to sit than in the grounds of Gateshead Rugby Club with the view of St John’s spire in the background. And if the weather is not too good then we have a heated marquee and a clubhouse lounge and bar as well, so all eventualities are catered for.”

Tickets cost £10 per day in advance, or £12 on the door, with a weekend ticket costing £25 – or £30 on the day – and are available through the Gateshead Beer Festival website.
