Following a successful beer festival in July, in which every cask ran dry by Saturday night, members of Ashbrooke Sports Club in Sunderland brought back their autumn festival, complete with 28 ciders and nine different types of sausages, for a second year.

“There’s a bit of a relaxed kinda throw-it-together and see if it works attitude in the club,” said bar manager Joe Bacon.

“And we had a good response to the idea last year and so we decided to do it again.”

The festival included a range of sausages from Jarrow butcher Dave Hodgson, who produced the pepper, curry and date filled Ashbrooke Banger especially for the event, based on the clubs colours of red, gold and black.
