Anchor Inn in Wooler up for sale with warning it could become shops
LANDLORDS have put a North East town pub up for sale – with estate agents warning it could be turned into shops.
The Anchor Inn in the centre of Wooler, in north Northumberland, is on the market with an asking price of £170,000 freehold.
The building, which is being advertised through Christie and Co, includes three bedrooms that can be let out, a lounge/bar, a small restaurant and a catering kitchen. It also has a three bedroom owner’s flat and an outside drinking area at the back.
Mark Worley, from the estate agent’s Newcastle office, said: “We are pleased to bring to the market this attractive town centre public house, which is presented in good condition and is very well situated amongst a variety of retail units, other pubs and licensed premises.
“It is felt that the pub will be purchased for continued use, however it may also attract restaurant and retail buyers who may find the location and size appealing.”
