Police hunt masked raiders after Tynemouth pub robbery

Terrifying masked raiders are today being hunted by police after breaking into a Tyneside pub, threatening a woman and stealing cash.
The robbery happened at 4am on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25, at the Salutation Hotel, on Front Street in Tynemouth.
Three men wearing masks forced entry into the pub and demanded the occupant, a woman in her 40s, open the safe.
The men – who police say we’re unarmed – then escaped with a quantity of cash.
Detective Inspector Andy Fairlamb said: “This was a very distressing incident for the victim, although she was not injured she has been left shaken by what happened.
“Officers will be in the area, to carry out enquiries into the robbery and to offer reassurance to the local community.
“If anyone has any information, whether they heard or saw anything early this morning in or around Front Street, or know the identity of the men, I would urge them to contact police.”
Northumbria Police is asking any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
