The Olde Potting Shed Brewery

The Olde Potting Shed Brewery plant made by Scotia WeldingThe Olde Potting Shed Brewery (TOPS), based at the Collingwood Buildings on Collingwood Road in High Spen, Gateshead, began brewing in October 2013.

Owned by Ray Swan and his wife Pamela, who sells kitchens, bathrooms and bedroom furniture, the five barrel brewery took almost a year to set up, with help from brewing consultant George Thompson.

The brewery’s plant was fabricated by Scotia Welding and Fabrication, in the Scottish Borders, who previously worked on Tempest Brewery, Fyne Ales and Belhaven Brewery’s kits.
